Jess – Casebrook
Diploma of Teaching – Early Childhood Education
Hi I’m Jess. I live in Casebrook with my husband Nick, our toddler Edie and Thumper our lop bunny. I hold a diploma of teaching (ECE) level 7, as well as a certificate in nanny education. I have been a stay at home mum to my wee girl Edie for the last 2 years and I have loved seeing her learn and develop into an amazing wee human. Teaching and nurturing children is my passion and I am very excited to be joining Organic Kids.
I provide a learning environment that values diversity where every child is included, nurtured and their individual differences are celebrated. I feel that it is necessary to have open communication with children and respect them in order to form effective relationships. I believe in the importance of routines and using positive reinforcement as a behaviour guidance strategy. As a teacher it is essential to plan for children’s interests and to cover a range of learning areas when planning learning experiences. I believe it is important that children take control of their own learning, in order for them to be independent and feel that their contribution is valued.
The outings I would love to take the children on (if their routines allow) include, Organic Kids play group every Tuesday morning as well as Forest Education fortnightly on a Thursday. The activities in my local community that may also become part of my programme include Story Times on a Wednesday morning at Papanui library and Tumble Times on a Friday morning at Graham Condon.
I look forward to meeting you, come and join in on the fun!
