Katrina – Oxford

Qualifications
Diploma of Teaching ECE

Hi I’m Trina I live in Oxford with my Husband and two daughters. I have over 18 years experience in Early Childhood and I’m very excited to be joining Organic Kids. I have a strong passion for the care and respect of animals and also our environment. We share our home with 7 chickens, 1 cat, 2 rabbits and 2 fish, therefore your child will be involved in caring for our pets, feeding the chickens and collecting their eggs. in the preparation, planting and harvesting processes, along with introducing them to recycling and reusing along the way.

I have an energetic personality, which is bubbly, kind and friendly. Children seem to gravitate towards my energy and thrive in the care and education I provide.

I will also involve your child in community groups such as Music and Movement on Mondays and Story Time on Fridays. I am a keen baker and believe children learn from real life experiences, therefore baking, making play dough and mixing of ingredients for science experiments will all be a weekly learning experience in my care.

I look forwards to meeting you and your family, and working alongside you in lifting your child to life’s next step and rolling this over to prepare them for school.

Lauren – Oxford

Qualifications
Diploma of Teaching ECE

Hi I’m Lauren an in-home educator with Organic Kids. I live in Oxford, North Canterbury with my partner, our son and cat Emmi.

I have over 10 years experience in early childhood education. I believe that children need to feel safe and secure forming a strong relationship with their carer before they can reach their full learning potential. With my calm, nurturing personality your children will have a great introduction into in-home learning environments. They will quickly gain a feeling of security and belonging within my small group of children.

I believe communication is the key to success. Open communication between families and whanau will be used in my care. All children will have equitable opportunities to learn, this will be achieved by using visual aids, communication and tactile play.

I believe that children need to be a part of our community, this will be met through attending Music group on a Monday morning, Story Times at the library on Friday mornings. Visits to Oxford Area School and the local park.

I have a passion for music, art and tactile play. In my care your children will have the opportunity to be involved in group times, art, water/messy play, science experiments, construction, baking and outdoor physical movement. I will encourage the children to help look after the natural world around us with learning about recycling, planting in our vegie/garden and harvesting the produce.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your family requirements and finding out if I am the right educator for your family.

Maura – Oxford

Qualifications
Diploma in Montessori Teaching

Level 6 Advanced Supervision in Childcare

Hi I’m Maura, I live in Oxford with my husband Paul, young son Tadhg and our dog Bán. We also have Poppy the horse as well as chickens and sheep. I’m from Ireland and have lived in New Zealand for the past 5.5 years.

I am trained in early childhood education and believe children’s social and emotional development is the foundation to their future learning. For this reason I strive to build strong secure attachments that are based on trust and respect with all the children in my care, from here I follow each child’s individual  interests offering encouragement and guidance. I believe children learn from “doing” and while demonstrations on how to complete a task or activity is sometimes necessary the real learning happens when children complete these tasks themselves.

During your child’s time with me they will be involved in helping to feed and care for our animals, arts & crafts, water/messy play, baking, visits to our local music group and the local children’s park. Your child will have the freedom to explore their own individual interests and I will strive to provide resources and opportunities that meet these interests.

I’m very excited about being part of Organic Kids, I look forward to meeting you and your family and discussing your needs.
