Hi, I’m Lisa. I am a fully qualified early childhood education teacher with a wealth of experience across a variety of early learning settings. Through my journey, I discovered my true passion lies in home-based education—something that became especially meaningful when my own daughter was young. I value the intimate, relationship-rich environment that home-based care provides, where children can feel a strong sense of belonging, security, and connection.

At the heart of my practice is a deep understanding of children and their individual needs. I am calm, thoughtful, and highly attuned, creating a space where tamariki are supported to grow in confidence, express themselves, and develop at their own pace. I take great pride in fostering strong, respectful relationships—not only with children, but also with their whānau, ensuring open communication and a collaborative approach to care.

I value being able to respond to the evolving needs and interests of the tamariki in my care, adapting my environment to meet their individual needs. My inviting outdoor area offers rich opportunities for exploration, creativity, and connection with nature. I provide a range of loose parts and open-ended resources, both indoors and out, supporting children to problem-solve, imagine, and lead their own play.

Staying connected to my local Harewood and Bishopdale community is also important to me. I enjoy taking children on regular outings to nearby parks and reserves, giving them opportunities to explore their wider environment and build a sense of place within their community.

I am also proficient in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), which I thoughtfully weave into my daily programme. This adds another rich layer of communication and inclusivity, supporting all children to express themselves and connect with others in different ways.
