Kia ora, my name is Hanae. I am originally from Tokyo and have been in New Zealand since 2011. I love living in this beautiful country with my husband and our two children.

As a Mum, I understand how precious your child is and adore how parents wish the very best for their little ones. I am passionate about ensuring your tamariki’s wellbeing is protected and nurtured. I see children as individuals and enjoy knowing each child’s personalities and interests. Providing a fun learning environment based on each child’s needs is my passion. I value respecting relationships which bring warmth and care towards each other.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Child Welfare and a Montessori education training course in Japan; I also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at Auckland University to extend my knowledge of early childhood education.  I am a qualified and fully registered teacher in Aotearoa and Japan. I have worked at early childhood centres in Auckland and Wellington until I had my daughter and started as a home based educator. I worked as a home based educator for 3 years before we moved to Christchurch. Those teaching experiences have enriched my practice as a professional educator.

I have worked with children under the age of six for 15 years. I will ensure your child receives full support and care while in my home care with various learning experiences including cooking, art and craft, walking, gardening, visiting local libraries and shops, music including playing the ukulele, water play, sensory play, fine/ gross motor activities, playgroups and of course anything else your child loves to do. My daughter and I’d love to share our Japanese culture and the language if you wish, too.

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you!
