I’m Jaimee, I am a qualified ECE teacher living in Pegasus with my husband and our 3 children. I have been an ECE teacher since 2011 and after being in and out of teaching roles in between having my 3 kiddies I have FINALLY decided home based is the right option for us!
My oldest goes to school now but on a Tuesday and a Thursday my two youngest and I will welcome another two kiddies into our home for a fun filled, adventurous day!
The one thing I hold of most importance when it comes to teaching is relationships. Relationships are absolutely key! If I don’t have a trusting, secure and respectful relationship with both you and your child then we simply aren’t in a space where learning can occur. Time to connect is really important for me whether this be during drop off or pick up times.
We love to make a mess so messy play, arts and crafts, digging in the mud, and working in the veggie garden are an important part of our day. Make sure you pack a change of clothes! We also spend a lot of time building and constructing, making all kinds of creations for ourselves, our cars, dolls, and animals to enjoy. Oh and we LOVE a good dance party and getting a little silly and crazy, it’s just too much fun!
When it comes to creativity I firmly believe it’s all about the experience and journey to get there not so much about the final masterpiece so although you may not see too many perfect final products you can rest assured knowing that we had a blast while we did it!
Otherwise as far as my teaching goes I build a relationship with your child so I truly know them and what their interests are. Once I know that I can plan some experiences, in collaboration with you, that will extend and challenge them as I journey alongside them and have fun while we do it!
