My name is Jo Goile and I am a mother of 2 adult children and a grandmother of two. I moved to Christchurch from Whakatane, Bay of Plenty in 2019 where I worked as a teacher aide in a primary school for 13 years prior to becoming a Home based Educator in 2017.
I like to provide the children in my care with opportunities to explore, to be challenged and develop their individual capabilities within a safe, respectful and stimulating home learning environment. Building on their individual strengths and interests and empowering them to become confident, competent young learners where they feel nurtured and have a sense of belonging.
Play is an important part of my programme, by providing a wide variety of learning experiences both in the home and in the community I know your child will thrive. Having a friendly atmosphere that is welcoming to the family, is also important to me, a space where you feel that you can play a part in your child’s day, working together to best support your child in their learning and development.
I like to take part in playgroups, trips to the library, play dates at other educators houses, music, cooking, gardening and frequent walks to parks and playgrounds.
My home is in a quiet street, on a fully fenced section with lots of room to run and play. I am close to several parks and playgrounds. Outside I have sand and water play, lots of fun resources, flower and vegetable gardens. I have a love of all animals and I have two well behaved smaller sized dogs.
